Ofsted Reports

Our recent Ofsted inspection was a great success! Margaret McMillan primary continues to be a Good School.

The inspectors recognised the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our entire school community, and we are proud to have received a very positive report.

The report highlights many strengths, including:
📌 “The school is friendly and welcoming. Pupils learn in a calm and nurturing environment.”
📌 “The school’s culture reflects its motto of ‘inspiration, aspiration and determination.’”
📌 “Relationships between pupils and staff are positive. The caring ethos helps pupils to feel safe.”
📌 “Pupils develop skills of leadership by holding positions of responsibility, such as for school council, eco warriors, librarians and early years associates.”

We are especially proud that Ofsted recognised our high expectations, inclusive approach, and commitment to fostering a love of learning. Inspectors noted that “staff encourage pupils to develop their vocabulary, ask questions and be curious,” and that “pupils are immersed in the joy of reading from the early years.”

Beyond the classroom, pupils thrive in a wide range of activities, from rock climbing and ballet to mechanics and sports competitions. The report highlighted how “pupils relish their residential outdoor adventure experiences” and develop confidence through participation in clubs and leadership roles.

This achievement is a true testament to the partnership between staff, pupils, and parents in making Margaret McMillan Primary School a wonderful place for children to learn and grow.
